Welcome to my blog! My name is Malcolm and I live in London, UK.

I first became interested in Ancient Greek and Roman literature when I was at university in the 90s. It wasn’t until 2007, though, that I ‘met’ Alexander the Great. It was love at first sight and I have greatly enjoyed reading and thinking about him and his age ever since.

The Second Achilles is my place on the web to discuss Alexander. I hope you enjoy what you read here. As I am very much a student of the great man, everything you read on the blog is liable to be amended or corrected at a later date. I strive for accuracy but cannot guarantee it. If you read something that you think is not right please feel free to question or correct me. We do best when we learn together.
